BH.88

Designed as a replacement for the SR.N4 Mk 3, and building on the knowledge gained in SR.N4 operation, the BH.88 was to have been the largest hovercraft yet produced by BHC. In the event, Hoverspeed opted to order the heavily subsidised Australian SeaCat craft, with the intention of retiring the SR.N4s shortly after their delivery. Nobody would have guessed that the hovercraft were to continue on the Channel for another ten years after the projected retirement date.
